This photo, taken by Dave Russell at Moscow-Zhukovsky on 29 June 2002, shows what Ilyushin IL-14 FLA-01146 looked like when it was "discovered" by Reto Seipel and his team. It is rather obvious that it had not flown for some time, and there is very apparent damage to the rudder fabric. In fact, the entire rudder had to be replaced, which explains the grey rudder during the ferry flight. But other than that the aircraft appears to be in fairly good shape. Note that the FLA prefix is not carried on the fuselage. These letters (ФЛА in cyrillic) are painted on the wings only.
